Sisters Dumpling
About This Spot
Stepping into Sisters Dumpling feels like entering a cherished family kitchen tucked away within the heart of Los Angeles’ vibrant Crenshaw neighborhood. There’s an easygoing, unpretentious calm that greets you here—a gentle hum of conversation around modest tables, warm lighting that softens the space, and the subtle aroma of simmering broths and fresh dough reminding you that this is a place where time is given to craft and comfort. The pace is comfortably unhurried, matching the thoughtful preparation behind each bowl and plate.
Here, the ritual of dumpling-making is as much a part of the experience as the food itself. Watching the sisters expertly fold dumplings—a repeated art of care and tradition—draws you into a quiet celebration of home-style Korean cooking. The menu offers more than just dumplings: hearty soups laden with hand-pulled dough flakes, vibrant fermented sides like yeolmu kimchi and cubic radish kimchi, and broths enriched with fresh seafood or slow-simmered chicken. Each dish feels like a small, comforting story you unwrap bite by bite, steeped in flavors that invite lingering and sharing.
In the background, there’s a subtle, reassuring buzz from the kitchen and the attentive, warm gestures of the staff that make you feel quietly looked after. It’s a spot where language gently yields to smiles and nods, adding human connection to the culinary journey. Whether you find yourself here for a moment of pause during a busy day or a quiet meal that soothes and satisfies, Sisters Dumpling wraps you in a sense of belonging—offering honest, soulful Korean food that’s as much about the mood and company as it is about nourishment.

One of LA’s Best-Kept Hidden Gems! I’ve been meaning to visit this spot for a while, and I’m so glad I finally made the drive completely worth it. This is an honest review: the 떡만두국 (김치/소고기/야채) here filled with kimchi, beef, and veggies, is hands down some of the best I’ve had in all of K-town. The broth was rich and comforting, and the dumplings were perfectly packed and bursting with flavor. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite, unlike some of the more commercialized local spots. The banchan was equally impressive fresh, well-seasoned, and the kimchi especially stood out with its crisp texture and bold flavor. Everything paired beautifully with the soup. It honestly reminded me of my fiancée’s mom’s home cooking authentic, soulful, and made with love. Easily a 10/10. We’ll definitely be coming back as regulars. 감사합니다!

Came for lunch alone, it was fairly busy around 12:00 to 1:00 pm and got a table. Order the combo dumplings along with fried pork cutlets. The Dumplings were ok, nothing to specials, Loved the pork cutlet comes with barbeque sauce, small salad, and dark rice. The server was nice and polite even though there was a language barrier we managed to easily commuincate. I'll order from here again, but take out only.

The broth is rich and refreshing, simmered with a variety of seafood, crabs, and vegetables like zucchini and onions. The thick homemade sujebi (hand-pulled dough) noodles had a great texture.

Very good combo dumpling soup with rice cakes. Delicious side dishes and very good hot sauce. I watched one of the sisters making the dumplings while I ate, which was cool. Fast service.

This place is legit off the hook. People are so cool. Home made baby. Home made dumplings. I wanted some dumplings and they were like: which one? Kimchi or beef?!? And I said YES!!!! I got kimchi and beef… got both baby!!! Last year my moms came on New Year’s Eve afternoon and they were out of dumplings so come early baby. We got some to go to eat in the car and some to put in dumpling soup later. Some space to eat here and parking is good did I mention that it was home made!?!? ;) I’m channeling my silver lining playbook - homemade pops. Mom made homemade a!!!

I had Sujebi with fresh squash and hand pulled dough flakes. Really clean and yummy. You can watch a sister pull the dough flakes right in front of you.
